INSTANT
Collaborative Exhibit Featuring the Works of:

Point, shoot, develop, admire, and share, all within seconds – Over half a century ago, Polaroid gave the world the ability to capture an image and instantly see the results. Your grandmother setting the Thanksgiving table, your dog with the zoomies in the yard, the way the shadows hit the pavement midday in June. Moments you want to capture and hold onto, immediately available. All possible holding a camera that collaborates with chemicals and paper to create a mobile darkroom. Light, temperature, air, and time all impacting its production and success. An anxious thrill waiting to see your results. A full encapsulation of your experience, all in a perfect little square, already framed and ready for your fridge door gallery. Special and mundane moments alike that live on, forgotten in a drawer, waiting to be discovered in another lifetime. A story captured to be remembered, to be shared, to be cherished. A small square of history.
Decades have passed, technology has advanced, and times have changed, yet we’re still hopelessly enchanted by this little magic box and the heirlooms we create with it. In “Instant”, we’ve come together to explore and celebrate the original instant image and the unique quality, nostalgia, possibilities, and artistic journey it’s supplied and encouraged in us since 1948.
