Two-Day Hand Building Workshop: Pumpkin Jar

Saturday, September 12th 11am - 2pm for creating the jar

Saturday, September 19th 11am - 1pm for glazing

Join local teaching artist Abby Shumgart for a 2-week pottery hand building class. A great class for beginning potters and intermediates looking for a refresher. This 2-week class will start with learning to shape and create your own pumpkin jar day one. On day two, you get to paint your jar using our glazes.

Please bring your own towel, don’t wear dangling jewelry or flowy sleeves, long hair should be pulled back and please, no flip flops! The floors can get slippery. If you have very long nails, you may find hand building difficult. Be prepared to get dirty, but the good news is, the clay washes right out of your clothes!

Perfect for Halloween haunts or warm autumn vibes, your finished piece will be a beautiful (and reusable!) addition to your seasonal decor.
