Bonsai Workshop

Guided by seasoned bonsai enthusiasts Steven and Nate—who bring a combined 20 years of hands-on experience—you’ll get an inside look at bonsai styles, design principles, and care before diving in yourself.

You’ll choose your tree, then prune, and sculpt it into a living work of art to take home and enjoy for years to come. No experience needed—just come ready to relax, learn, and create.

Slime Lab Workshop

Turkish Mosaic Lamp

Create your own beautiful Turkish mosaic lamp using colorful glass tiles and beads. Choose from a variety of colors and patterns to design a lamp that reflects your personal style. This beginner-friendly workshop includes all materials and step-by-step instruction.

Your finished lamp features a sturdy metal base and comes with an electrical cord and convenient on/off button switch, ready to use and enjoy at home.

Take home a fully functional lamp.

Soy Candle Workshop

Join us for our first hands-on say candle workshop at Tamaqua Arts Center. Take some time for yourself and learn the craft and process of making your very own small batch soy candles.

You will make one amber jar candle and 4 tealights using 9 oz of locally sourced soy wax. Your 1 wick amber jar soy candle will burn for a total of 44 hours. Tealights burn up to 6 hours.

Personalize the fragrance from an assortment of 20 high quality, phthalate free oils to choose from. Every single oil used is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without phthalates and ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list. The oils used in ShePaintsCo candles have no known or suspected carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, or acute toxins.

Decorate your candle and tealights with an array of biodegradable glitters, crystal chips, and soy wax embeds. Decorate your 4 tealights while your main candle cools.

You will be guided through step by step, no experience needed! This workshop is for anyone 12 and up. This event includes all tools needed for your candle making experience. A wax melter is provided to pre-melt the soy wax, which is then poured into your own pour pitcher to blend with choice fragrance oils. Individual tea lights hold .6 oz of wax and burn up to 5 hours each. Trade tealights you create with others in the group to leave with a variety of scents infused with each others creative expression.

Two-Day Hand Building Workshop: Pumpkin Jar

Join local teaching artist Abby Shumgart for a 2-week pottery hand building class. A great class for beginning potters and intermediates looking for a refresher. This 2-week class will start with learning to shape and create your own pumpkin jar day one. On day two, you get to paint your jar using our glazes.

Please bring your own towel, don’t wear dangling jewelry or flowy sleeves, long hair should be pulled back and please, no flip flops! The floors can get slippery. If you have very long nails, you may find hand building difficult. Be prepared to get dirty, but the good news is, the clay washes right out of your clothes!

Paint Like Bob Ross

Guided Painting Workshop - Mona Lisa

Attendees embrace the process, exploring art in a supportive, comfortable atmosphere, revealing their creative side. Learning something new and playing with art is uplifting and can help to reduce stress. The goal of Lone Goat Studio is to encourage people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to experience creative expression without fear of judgement.

Rustic Wood Painting: Halloween Set of 3

Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

Ever wanted to learn how to make your own Cinnamon Rolls without all the hassle? In this hands on class you will learn how to roll, fill, shape, and cut you own batch while learning the process behind enriched sourdough dough.

You get to leave this class with your own shaped cinnamon rolls ready to bake or freeze at home, along with a clear recipe and timeline you can actually use, and the confidence to make them again.

No experience is needed, just bring a willingness to learn
